Ad tracking audits for UK businesses
Find out what your website's ad tracking is actually doing.
TrackWatch checks business websites for tracking and consent problems we can observe, explains what we found in plain English, and gives you a clear route to fixing them.
Start with your free audit. Review the findings yourself, pass them to whoever looks after your website, or have us fix them for a fixed price.
Audits are based on a controlled scan of your public website: your homepage and, if you sell online, one product page. They describe what we observed during that test; they aren't a legal audit.
Got an email from us?
Here's what happened, and what happens next.
Why we contacted you
We look at the public websites of UK limited companies that advertise online, checking one thing: whether ad tracking respects visitors' consent choices. Yours showed a problem, so we wrote to you.
What we did
We ran a controlled scan of your public homepage. We recorded which tracking tools loaded before any consent choice, then accepted your cookie banner where there was one, to see what changed. If you sell online, we did the same on one product page and added that product to a basket once, as a shopper would, without ordering anything. We also checked whether personal details, such as an email address or phone number, appeared in what your website sent to advertising and analytics platforms. We also read a few other public pages, such as your contact page, to confirm your company details. We didn't log in, fill in forms, or keep any of your visitors' data. Our full method.
What happens next is up to you
Your audit is free and yours to keep. It shows what we observed, with timings, and explains what each finding means. From there you have three options: pass it to whoever looks after your website, fix it yourself with our step-by-step guides (€49), or have one of our specialists fix it for you (€249), checked with a re-scan and with your money back if it isn't fixed. Compare the options.
Where's my audit?

Why it matters
Why a tracking problem is worth fixing
Your ad platforms may be working from incomplete data
Google and Meta use what your website sends them to measure and optimise your ads. Missing or misconfigured signals can leave them with an incomplete picture. Since June 2026, Google relies on consent signals to decide which ad data it can use.
Results can go uncounted
Depending on your set-up, sales and enquiries your ads produced may not be credited to them, which can make campaigns that work look weaker than they are.
A potential consent issue
Some advertising and analytics technologies need a visitor's consent before they run. Where we saw tracking before any consent choice, your audit shows the request and its timing, so you or your adviser can assess it.
None of this fixes itself, and nothing warns you it's happening. A scan can't measure the effect on your campaigns, but it does show exactly what your website is sending, which is where any fix starts.
Want the full picture first?
See what happens where customers share their details
Credited in full if you then choose Fix it for me (€220 instead of €249).
Your free audit shows what loads as visitors arrive and browse. The Full Scan follows the rest of the journey: the cart, the checkout, your site search and your forms. It shows exactly which personal details leave your website, and where they go.
Because it submits your forms with made-up details, we only run it once you've confirmed the website is yours, by a link sent to an address on your own domain. No order is ever placed. Full refund if we can't run it.

How Fix it for me works
Four steps, and most of them are ours.
Choose it on your audit
Pay securely through our checkout. That's the only payment we'll ever ask for.
Give us access, not passwords
We'll show you how to add a separate user account on your website and Google Tag Manager, which you can remove afterwards. Before changing anything, we save a copy of your current set-up.
A specialist fixes it
Usually started within five business days of getting access, and finished within ten business days of starting. If your site needs more work than expected, we'll tell you first, and you can have a full refund instead.
We prove it worked
We re-scan your site with the same method as your audit and send you a before-and-after report. If a problem we fixed still shows up, we keep working on it, or refund you in full.
Already have a web developer or agency? Forward them your audit; it has everything they need. Or we'll fix it and they can see exactly what changed.
Don't take our word for it
Check it yourself in two minutes
You can see the most common problem with your own eyes, for free, on a computer:
Open your website in a private or incognito window, so you arrive as a new visitor.
Right-click anywhere on the page, choose Inspect, then open the Network tab.
Reload the page, and don't click your cookie banner.
Type
facebookinto the Network filter box, then trygoogleadservices. If anything appears before you've clicked the banner, advertising tracking is running before visitors have agreed to it.
That's what our scan recorded too. Your audit shows the exact requests, with timings, under "Observed on page load".

Questions
The questions people ask us
Is this a scam?
A fair question when an email arrives out of the blue. Three ways to check: we're registered with the ICO as a data controller, which you can confirm on the public register; you can confirm the problem yourself in two minutes (see above) without paying anyone; and we never ask for passwords, card details by email, or remote access to your computer. Payment only ever happens through our checkout.
How did you find my business?
From public listings of UK businesses, then a controlled scan of your public homepage (and, if you sell online, one product page), plus a few other public pages such as your contact page to confirm your company details. We only look at limited companies and LLPs, which we confirm against the Companies House register. Full methodology.
Do I have to buy anything?
No. Your audit is free, and it has enough detail for you or your web developer to fix the problem without us.
Will anyone else contact me about this?
No. A business we've contacted is never passed on to anyone else.
Am I going to be fined?
Your audit isn't legal advice. It records what we observed during one test, so you or your adviser can assess it; whether a particular finding is a breach depends on the technology and the circumstances. For context, since February 2026 fines under PECR, the UK rules on cookies and tracking, can reach the same levels as UK GDPR.
Someone else looks after my website.
Forward them your audit; it shows exactly what we found, with evidence. If you'd rather we fix it, Fix it for me works alongside them, and the before-and-after report shows exactly what changed.
What if the fix doesn't work?
With Fix it myself, your free re-check shows exactly which problems are fixed and which aren't, and you can switch to Fix it for me for €200 within 30 days. With Fix it for me, if our re-scan shows a problem we fixed is still there, we keep working on it or refund you in full. Details in our Refund Policy.
Do you need my passwords?
No. For Fix it for me, you add a separate user account for us, which you remove when we're done. We never ask for your own login details.
How do I stop hearing from you?
Use the opt-out link in our email, reply asking us to stop, or email optout@trackwatch.info. We'll never contact you again, and your website won't be scanned again.
Your audit has everything you need to get this fixed.
Open it from our email, choose how you'd like to fix it, and we'll confirm it worked.
